Located in Perur, just a few kilometers from the city, this ancient Shaiva temple is famously known as “Pirava Neri Thalam” – the Land of No Rebirth. The presiding deity is Lord Pateeswarar (Shiva) and His consort is Goddess Maragathavalli Thayar (Pachainayaki). The name “Pateeswarar” comes from the word Patti, meaning cowshed in the Kongu region.
